The Birth Story of Ryan James Egley

Okay, not sure if anyone even still checks my blog since I am so faithful at posting. But for all you die hards out there who haven't given up on me, here is the story...
Ryan James was born 2 weeks ago on October 20th at 10:37 pm. I had a Drs appoint with Miss Anne, and she stripped my Membranes at about 3 pm, I was dilated to 3.5. I started having contractions that kinda hurt and a back ache, but I had TONS of errands to run in Logan, to get my final list crossed off. (I had been making lists for about 3 weeks of things that I needed to get done, I guess this was my way of nesting.) We went to a late lunch at Firehouse-yummy! We were walking around Walmart and Natalie (who I wanted as my nurse) texted me and told me Anne had come by and told them I might come in and said she would just break my water if I came in. Also the Anesthesiologist was the one I wanted. (It was meant to be!) By 6:30 we were done with the errands, I still had a back ache, but was only contracting every 10 min or so when I wasn't up walking. Jared decided he needed a treat so we went and got some Cold Stone Ice Cream- yummy again! I couldn't decide what to do, but since it was "meant" to be and everyone was there and ReNae was with the kids, I didn't want to have to come back in the middle of the night, so I really felt like I was just setting up my own induction. We headed up to L&D at 7pm, they got us all settled and guess what I was 6 cm- YAY! I didn't feel so bad then, cause I had actually changed. Still only contracting every 10 min or so and they didn't really hurt, but I was there and Anne was on her way in to break my water and so "What the Heck..." I had Nat call Shane and I got my epidural, cause it was going to hurt eventually! So I got my epidural at 8pm, Anne got there and broke my water at 8:30 and I was 7cm. Nat checked me at 9:30, still 7cm, so at 9:45 started some Pitocin. Called and checked on the kids at 10- Of course Hayden was still awake. 10:10pm and my contractions really started to hurt. Still 7cm. Hit my epidural button, 10:15 still hurting, baby had a pretty good decel to 70's, yep... I was complete! 10:20 still hurting hit that button once again. Anne came in the room, got everything set up, 10:30 finally no longer feeling those MEAN contractions, pushed with ONE contraction and Ryan (or NO Name at the time) was born. He was beautiful and oh boy could he scream! He weighed 7lbs 5 oz and was 20.5 in long. He has a little bit of brown hair and my funny toes. Everything went perfect and I couldn't have had a better experience. I am so blessed, and so thankful that he is finally here and PERFECT!!!
Sorry about the LONG post.... but how do you shorten a birth story!!!
